Spring Engagement Session at Prescott Park in Portsmouth, NH with Connor & Melanie
There is something special about springtime in Portsmouth, especially when the trees begin to bloom at Prescott Park. I recently had the chance to photograph Connor and Melanie’s engagement session there, and it could not have been a more perfect evening for engagement photography in New Hampshire. The soft spring light, colorful blossoms, and waterfront atmosphere created an incredible backdrop for their photos while still allowing the focus to stay on the connection between the two of them.
One of the things I love most about engagement sessions is getting to know my couples before the wedding day. Connor and Melanie were so easygoing together, and that made photographing them feel natural from the very beginning. We spent time walking throughout Prescott Park, taking advantage of the blooming trees, winding pathways, and beautiful views around Portsmouth. The combination of spring colors and candid moments made this engagement session feel relaxed, romantic, and authentically them.
As a documentary-style wedding photographer serving New Hampshire and all of New England, sessions like this are always a reminder of why I love engagement photography so much. Engagement sessions are not only a great way to create beautiful photos together, but they also help couples become comfortable in front of the camera before the wedding day arrives. By the end of the session, Connor and Melanie were completely in the moment, which always leads to the most meaningful photographs.
I’m incredibly excited to photograph Connor and Melanie’s wedding day and continue telling their story. If their engagement session at Prescott Park is any indication, their wedding is going to be filled with genuine moments, laughter, and beautiful memories. Portsmouth, NH is always one of my favorite locations for engagement photography, especially during the spring season when the gardens and trees are in full bloom.
