There is something about York, Maine that quietly takes your breath away — the way the Atlantic breaks against the rocky coastline, the way golden afternoon light falls across a saltwater lawn, the way a harbor dotted with lobster boats looks in early October. I am Marc Sadowski, and over nearly two decades of photographing weddings throughout southern Maine and New Hampshire, York has become one of my favorite destinations. The landscape here is a genuine creative partner, and the weddings I have photographed along this stretch of coast are some of the most beautiful work of my career.

If there is a more beautiful wedding venue in New Hampshire than The Wentworth Inn in Jackson, I haven't found it. Tucked into the White Mountains, the property carries that rare combination of history and nature that most venues spend a fortune trying to fake — and here it's simply the setting. The inn's grounds are immaculate, layered with mature trees, stone walls, split-rail fences, and lush green lawns that back up against the mountains in every direction. For a photographer, it's almost an embarrassment of riches.

Blue Ocean Event Center in Salisbury Beach, Massachusetts is one of those venues that does all the heavy lifting for you. Situated right on the Atlantic, the outdoor ceremony deck puts you literally on the water — not near it, on it — with an oceanfront gazebo and an open sky that photographers dream about. Inside, the reception ballroom features floor-to-ceiling windows that keep the ocean in view from cocktail hour straight through the last dance. Two completely different settings, one building, zero compromises
