Wedding Photography at The Wentworth Inn | Jackson, NH
If there is a more beautiful wedding venue in New Hampshire than The Wentworth Inn in Jackson, I haven't found it. Tucked into the White Mountains, the property carries that rare combination of history and nature that most venues spend a fortune trying to fake — and here it's simply the setting. The inn's grounds are immaculate, layered with mature trees, stone walls, split-rail fences, and lush green lawns that back up against the mountains in every direction. For a photographer, it's almost an embarrassment of riches.
The centerpiece of any Wentworth wedding is the gazebo ceremony. The white Victorian-style structure is framed by gardens on all sides, and in summer — when the foliage is full and the light is soft — it photographs like something out of a storybook. I've photographed ceremonies here in both June and July, and the difference in light and mood between the two is striking in the best possible way. June gives you a cool, lush quality, while July burns warmer and the golden hour hits the grounds like a painting.
What makes the Wentworth truly special, though, is what surrounds it. Jackson Falls is just minutes away, and the Honeymoon Covered Bridge — one of the most iconic spots in the entire White Mountains region — is practically around the corner. A dip kiss in front of that bridge with the red covered entrance reading "Jackson, N.H." behind you is the kind of portrait that couples frame and hang above the fireplace for the rest of their lives. I also have a secret location nearby that I take couples to for a few additional portraits — I'll keep that one to myself, but couples who book with me always know where it is.
The Wentworth's reception tent is a natural extension of the venue's character — airy, elegant, and open to the grounds on all sides so the mountains never really leave your view. I've watched couples make grand entrances to rooms full of cheering guests, share first dances under those soft white ceilings, and by the end of the night have the whole tent moving. The venue holds the energy of a celebration beautifully.
I've had the privilege of photographing two weddings here — Shannon and Justin in June, and Kiera and Chris in July — and honestly, choosing which photos to include in this post was one of the harder editing jobs I've done. Both couples brought something completely different to the same venue, and the Wentworth met them both perfectly. What you'll find below is just the best of the best — the moments and portraits that rose to the top across two incredible days.
