Winter Wedding at the Peabody Marriott

peabody_marriott_ma_wedding_photography

Back in March I had the privilege to photograph Vivian and Robert's wedding in Peabody, MA at the Marriott. The day may have been rainy but everyone's spirits were high and it was such a great day! Vivian was very lively. Her excitement was contagious. Yet she was relaxed and at ease in front of the camera. And the families were fun to work with. They weren't afraid to have their photos taken. And when it was time to "be invisible" I was easily able to do so to capture all the candid moments. Having my trusty FujiFilm X100 and X-E2 helped tremendously.

Fall Wedding at the Nashoba Valley Winery

Fall is quickly fading here in New England. This is by far one of the best and brightest seasons when it comes to great foliage. And it was perfect for April and Phong's wedding at the Nashoba Valley Winery. The weather was perfect. The foliage was perfect. The couple... you guessed it, perfect!

April and Phong were great, down to earth and fun to photograph. When it came to photographing in the winery itself, they let loose and had a lot of fun. It was very easy to do candid photography with them. And I have to say that Nashoba Valley Winery were really cool - definitely one of the best vineyards I've photographed at. Their wine is pretty awesome, too.

Wedding at the Salem Waterfront Hotel

At the beginning of September I photographed Melissa and Chris' wedding at the Salem Waterfront Hotel in Salem, MA. Rain storms threatened the day but it did not dampen the couple's spirits. Between the candid moments and their portraits, Melissa and Chris were awesome to work with and a lot of fun. And the Salem Waterfront Hotel was really fun, too. It's right in the middle of their downtown/wharf area giving easy access to some great settings for photos. You just can't go wrong. And just between you, me and the wall, the chocolate chip cookies they have in their lobby was to die for! I had four!

A Great Fall Wedding at Zorvino Vineyards

On Sunday I had an absolutely wonderful time photographing Sarah Ann and Graham's wedding at Zorvino Vineyards in Sandown NH. It was an amazing fall day - cool, crisp and vibrant. You couldn't ask for a better day. Sarah Ann was super nice and quite energetic. Graham was very cool and down to earth - a great couple! Both were very emotive - it was great!

And the staff at Zorvino Vineyards were great. The grounds were beautiful. The leaves were just starting to turn orange and red. The grape vines were also starting to turn, giving off a nice campaign hue. And the wedding was at sunset, giving the entire grounds a brilliant gold tone.

Wedding at The Margate in Laconia, NH

Fall is here officially in New England. The leaves are changing, the air is cool and crisp. I'm excited about the upcoming weddings in the colorful foliage. Yet, part of me still wishes for the warm summer. Rebecca and Greg's wedding was a great summer wedding that was held at one of my favorite places in the New Hampshire lakes regions, The Margate in Laconia. It was a warm one. The sun was bright and both bride and groom were spirited and super fun to work with. There was a lot of energy in the wedding party. And that sun... that sun was strong but it shined just right to give the bride an amazing glow - it was perfect!

Wedding at the Tewksbury Country Club

Back in May I photographed Nicole and Dan's wedding at the Tewksbury Country Club in Tewksbury, MA. It was a rainy day but the rain did nothing to spoil the beautiful day! The country club has a great charm that's both rustic and elegant. That's just the inside. Outdoors there is a great pond, stone bridge and lights that make the location really great for portraits and candid moments.

Nicole and Dan were great to work with. Nicole was charming and Dan was really cool.

Winter Wedding at the Publick House in Sturbridge, MA

This was the first wedding of 2013, just after New Year. A light snowfall had come down the night before and it wasn't too cold - it was perfect for Carolyn and Matt who got married at the Publick House in historic Sturbridge, MA. When it comes to historic New England, Sturbridge is one of the icons and the Publick House, build in 1781 had the charm of the old world and festiveness still fresh from Christmas.

And Carolyn and Matt were great to work with. Their first dance alone was a great performance unto itself!

Wedding in New Boston NH

I love rustic weddings. There is a certain charm to them that's accented by the old New England landscape. Tiffany and Ryan's wedding was just that kind of day from the old church right down to the 4H fairgrounds barn and stables. It was a gorgeous day! In addition, their dinner was provided by Hart's Turkey Farm. At first I thought turkey in the middle of the summer would be too much. I thought it would be too heavy. And then I tried their food. Wow! It was incredible and a perfect fit to the atmosphere!

Tiffany and Ryan were great to work with. A lot of fun, and very down to earth. It was super easy to mix a candid photography style to their big day.

Fall Wedding at The Lanam Club in Andover, MA

Wedding Photographer in Andover MA

It's hard to think that it's already August. Here in Massachusetts, we had a number of massive heat waves (they felt massive to us) followed by this... weather with air that feels crisp, clear and cool. The middle of August feels a lot like mid September. And that reminds me of one of my favorite weddings from last year with Jen and Jamie over at the Lanam Club in Andover MA. The air felt a lot like it does today. It was perfect for a great outdoor wedding. The Lanam Club is a restored home that was built back in the early 1900s. It's a beautiful house with a lot of character and charm.

What I loved most was what happened in the middle of our portrait session. The sun came down over the trees just right so that gold beamed through, giving us only minutes to take advantage of the lighting.

We did, and it came out awesome! If you would like more information on my wedding photography, please contact me by following this link.

Summer Wedding at the Ocean Edge Resort on the Cape

It's not every day that I get to photograph a wedding on the Cape. This year I had the opportunity to photograph 2 and they were both incredible and fun. This is the first wedding on the Cape this year - Bob and Sarah's wedding at the Ocean Edge Resort. The weather was perfect, the couple were fun and great, and the location was top notch!

Along with my trusty, usual gear, I also brought along the Fuji X100. I've had such success in capturing candid moments with that small power-house camera that I just had to use it here as well. It paid off!

A Great New England Wedding at Felton-Smith Historic Site in Peabody, MA

It's now August and the blistering heat wave has finally eased - which is weird because it's usually the opposite. August is normally the hot month. During the heat wave, I had the pleasure of photographing Jay and Kate at the Felton-Smith Historic Site in Peabody MA. The Felton-Smith site is a great New England house, orchard, and a restored barn perfect for receptions. The best part was that everyone in the wedding party was really fun and down to earth. It made for some great portraits and candid photos.

In this wedding I was using the Fuji X100 camera. It may look like a small rangefinder, but it packs a huge punch and it allowed me to move around more freely and more unnoticed.

Wedding at Sunny Slope Farm

Alton NH wedding Photography

Alton NH wedding Photography

It's not everyday that you get to see a rainbow. It's even rarer to be able to photograph one during a wedding. Fortunately I was able to do it at Sabrina and Al's wedding up at Sunny Slope Farm in Alton, NH. It was a great, laid-back wedding in a beautiful location. And the photo that you see on the right... the couple was awesome because it was still raining when we took that photo.

The location was great. Sunny Slope Farm has this great, rustic-New England charm from their Inn to the barn itself.

It was a great wedding to photograph. The couple were easy to work with and very outgoing - no fear in any of the photography! And that makes the portrait sessions much easier to organize.

And speaking of the portrait session - the timing couldn't have been better with the setting sun shining a brilliant gold hue on the couple. The light literally made the bride glow. Shortly after the portraits the clouds rolled in and rained briefly.

It helps that during my early college days I was majoring in Environmental Science. It studied weather for a semester and I could tell that the rain was going to be short-lived. I knew that a rainbow was going to form, I just needed to know where. I grabbed my camera and watched. And then I spotted it...

Turns out I didn't have to try all that hard. It was big and it was bright! You can't ask for anything more!

A Flowery Wedding at Sunset Hill House

Wedding Photography at the Sunset Hill Resort in Sugar Hill, NH

Wedding Photography at the Sunset Hill Resort in Sugar Hill, NH

I recently had the privilege of photographing a wedding recently at Sugar Hill in the White Mountains of New Hampshire. I frequently do weddings in the Whites, and it's by far one of my most favorite places to visit. The land is beautiful and I feel that I have a sense of home up in the mountains. But this is the first time I visited Sugar Hill.

I was immediately stunned by the amount of Lupines growing wild in the area. There are endless fields covered in purple and pink. The air was clear, with great, white puffy clouds in the sky. The visibility of the mountains was incredible! And it was a nice, breezy seventy degrees. You couldn't ask for a better day for a wedding.

The wedding and reception was held at Sunset Hill House. It's an old, historic inn that is reminiscent to the grand hotels of the 19th century, but still retains a quaint, home feel.

The wedding was casual and warm. Both the bride and groom and their families were fantastic and friendly with a great sense of humor.

Jessica - the bride - was stunning and sweet in her wedding dress. Tim - the groom - was relaxed and funny. In fact, all his groomsmen were funny. Often times it takes a bit of work to get the guys to relax in photographs. These guys were no problem.

Between the wedding and the reception we had the chance to go into the lupine fields and get some great portraits. These flowers in some areas come up chest high. It was awesome!
